We all know how fast technology is growing and changing everyday, digital journalism is very similar to that, since it uses most of the technology that is constantly changing in our world. To be a great journalist, it’s necessary to have a good technical background or at least know a little bit about technology and how it works. Most journalists are now working online and sometimes from their home in the pajama’s, that is a result of the awesome technology we now have available to us.
I believe that digital journalism is only going to grow and grow until it is the only form of journalism used regularly. No more newspapers and magazines printed, almost, if not everything, delivered digitally. Whether it’s through websites, TV, or Mobile Apps like engadget’s Android and iPhone App, Digital Journalism is changing just as fast as Technology is changing, some may argue that it’s changing for the better while other’s could argue that it’s changing for the worse. I feel that however you can get news to your audience quickly, precisely and accurately is what journalism is all about, whether it’s through newspapers or websites, it doesn’t matter as long as it’s read and honest.
I also believe those that are not able to keep up with the changing technology we experience will not be able to keep up with the changing of digital journalism. Just look at the mobile industry, it’s almost hard to pick a new phone because as soon as you buy it a new, better, cooler one will be out that you will want. For example I just bought the HTC Sensation and within three weeks, five newer android phones were announced and or released. That’s just how fast our industry is changing, and those journalists covering the android platform has to cover all these launches and review all these new phones whether good or bad. I believe digital journalism is becoming the medium in journalism today.
